This hurricane lantern was made by the Swiss manufacturer W. Egloff & Cie of Turgi and is in fantastic condition, with the original glass still in place.

The glass is marked with the Swiss cross and 3087; this is quite faint, but it does mean this is the original glass.

You don't come across this storm lantern very often; it is a beautiful, special lantern, especially given its solid design and the glass-lift system. A heavy-built storm lantern.

A fine addition to a collection, but also still usable as lighting in the house, in the garden, or on holiday. Condition is very good for its age.
