Vintage Winged Wheel No. 400 Hurricane Lantern – Made in Japan, 1970s – Working, Original Blue Paint, Japanese Copy of the Feuerhand 275
The fount of this hurricane lantern is embossed Made in Japan Winged Wheel *No 400*. The lantern was made in Japan and is thought to date from the 1970s.
The No. 400 is clearly a copy of the Feuerhand 275. The little stars either side of No 400 are particularly striking.
It still carries its original blue paint. The brand name and logo have worn beautifully, which gives the lantern much of its character.
The lantern burns kerosene and has been fitted with a new wick. The globe is unmarked. Condition is excellent, there are no faults, and the lantern is in working order.
