Vintage ship's lamp / compass lantern, with an unusually elegant shape. Unlike most models, which are typically cylindrical, this one has a curved glass window.
Please note:
The burner is not original — it's from a miner's lamp and doesn't fit perfectly. Because the flame rises too high, it's best used decoratively unless fitted with the correct original burner.
Compass lamps were mounted on a ship's compass housing to illuminate the compass at night. This piece was used aboard a vessel; the exact age is unknown, likely from the 1930s.
Additional details:
The closure latch is missing, but the lamp still closes securely.
Two small handles at the back.
The chimney sits slightly askew.
