The BAT 158 is a hurricane lantern by VEB Sturmlaternenwerk / Foron of Beierfeld, Germany. This example most likely dates from the 1980s or 1990s.
The fount carries the wording BAT 158 Made in GDR.
The globe is red and unmarked.
A new wick has been fitted to the wick holder. The lantern burns kerosene and is in working order.
Condition is as new.
My guess is that this version was mainly intended as decorative or festive lighting.
