The Frowo RL 770 is a German hurricane lantern enclosed in a housing, made between 1954 and 1965. RL stands for Rücklichtlampe, meaning it served as a tail light. The housing carries three reflectors.

The lantern itself is marked Frowo Nr. 770; the housing is marked Frowo D.P.

The lantern still has its original grey finish. The globe was painted red at some point, and that paint has faded over the years.

It burns kerosene. Condition is very good and the lantern is in working order.

Worth knowing: there is no globe lift, which makes the lantern awkward to use. The easiest way to light it is to use the chimney ring and work a lighter in between the chimney and the globe. To put it out, lift the globe rest slightly, turn the flame down and blow hard.
