Unusual Antique Carbide Bicycle Lamp with Fly Logo – Nickel, c. 1900–1920 – Side-Mounted Tap
An antique carbide bicycle lamp whose maker cannot be traced. The top carries a logo of a fly within a circle, and nothing further has turned up on it. The lamp most likely dates from between 1900 and 1920.
Its shape also sets it apart from the usual carbide bicycle lamps. The tap is the most striking detail: it sits on the side rather than on the top — an arrangement I have not seen before.
The lamp is nickel and the glass is intact. Condition is good.
Worth knowing: the lamp has not been tested, so whether it still works is unknown. It appears complete; rings should be exchanged if you want tu use him, at the bottom, where the reservoir meets the lamp, there are a few rubber parts.

A bicycle lamp whose maker remains a puzzle for now — if you can place it, do get in touch.
