The L'Abeille No 76 is a hurricane lantern by VEB Sturmlaternenwerk of Beierfeld, Germany, most likely dating from the 1970s.

The model is the same as the BAT 159, but it was made under this name for export to France. The fount reads L'Abeille No 76 Made in GDR.

The globe is the original one and marked Cristal.

The lantern burns kerosene.

This example is New Old Stock and unused. I do not often come across this version, and hardly ever in unused condition.
