Rare Mammut hurricane lantern, manufactured by Lohmann & Ruhland, Düsseldorf, around 1910. A large lantern with its original glass, marked "Mammut Werke MBH".
Also retains its original plate, though most of the text is faded. Not all parts are original:
The protective cage is a replacement and slightly undersized, so the glass-lift mechanism only works with the cage removed.
The wick cap is a replacement (likely originally brass).
Some imperfections: signs of age on the top, one glass-lift guide partially detached, and a dent in the air tube.
Despite this, it's a rare lantern that still works well.
Suitable for a collection, or for lighting at home, in the garden, or camping.
