Unusual Feuerhand 276 work lantern, with a heavy steel protective cage, in working, vintage condition.

The maker of the steel frame is unknown, but similar examples have surfaced over the years. Likely a blacksmith custom-built these reinforced holders around the Feuerhand 276 STK (Sturmkappe) to create a more durable work or breakdown lantern. The frame is thick steel, and the lantern hangs from sturdy steel chain links. Originally painted yellow, later repainted black, likely when the cage was added. Comes with red glass.

This is the Feuerhand Baby 276 STK, Sturmkappe, fitted with marked red glass — not the original red Feuerhand glass, likely coloured by a previous owner.

Shows signs of age: rust, dents on the top and bottom, and it stands slightly off-straight. Remains fully usable.

Suitable for a collection, or for practical lighting at home, in the garden, or on trips.
