Rare Feuerhand 276 STK/70 Baby Special Hurricane Lantern – Strassenbauamt Trier Road Service Lantern

Special vintage Feuerhand 276 STK/70 Baby Special hurricane lantern from West Germany, featuring the rare “Strassenbauamt Trier” marking. This indicates the lantern was originally produced for the road construction and maintenance department of the German city of Trier.

This is the well-known Feuerhand Baby 276 STK/70 model, most commonly encountered as a yellow road safety lantern, but this particular example is the much rarer plain metal version rather than painted yellow.

Thanks to its exceptionally large fuel tank, the lantern offers an extremely long burn time. The “70” designation refers to approximately 70 hours of operation.

The lantern includes an original marked Auer glass globe and still retains the wick used to help draw fuel into the burner.

A wonderful addition to any vintage lantern, industrial, or roadwork memorabilia collection, while also remaining perfectly functional as atmospheric lighting for the home, garden, camping, or holiday use.
