Rare Feuerhand 276/70 Baby Special Hurricane Lantern with Red Glass – West Germany Long Burn Lantern
Special vintage Feuerhand 276/70 Baby Special hurricane lantern from West Germany. A particularly unusual version because it was produced without the traditional Sturmkappe (storm cap) normally found on the 276/STK 70 models.
This example also features the desirable BP.ang marking together with a Sturmkappe marking on the chimney section, making it an interesting variation for collectors.
The Feuerhand Baby 276/70 is most commonly seen as a yellow road safety lantern, but this example is a standard metal version instead. Thanks to its exceptionally large fuel tank, the lantern offers an extremely long burn time — the “70” designation refers to approximately 70 hours of operation.
The lantern includes an original marked red glass globe and still retains the wick used to help draw fuel into the burner.
A fantastic addition to any vintage lantern or industrial collection, while also being fully functional for atmospheric lighting in the home, garden, camping trips, or holiday use.
