Special vintage Feuerhand 276/70 Baby Special hurricane lantern from West Germany, featuring the rare “Televerket” marking from Sweden’s former national telecommunications company.

Televerket was the Swedish state-owned telecommunications operator from 1853 until 1993, acting as the national monopoly provider for telegraph and telephone services before later becoming Telia (now Telia Company).

This is the well-known Feuerhand Baby 276/70 model, most commonly encountered as a yellow road safety lantern, but this particular example is the rarer plain metal version instead. It is also missing the Sturmkappe (storm cap) commonly found on many of these long-burn models.

Thanks to its exceptionally large fuel tank, the lantern offers an extremely long burn time. The “70” designation refers to approximately 70 hours of operation.

The lantern includes an original marked Auer glass globe and still retains the wick used to help draw fuel into the burner.

A fantastic addition to any vintage lantern, telecom, or industrial collection, while also remaining fully functional as atmospheric lighting for the home, garden, camping, or holiday use.
