Rare Darkroom Oil Lamp – Pigeon Lamp with “Lampe Junius” Attachment – Excellent Condition
This rare darkroom oil lamp is a special variation of the classic Pigeon oil lamp, featuring an added darkroom attachment that was used for developing photographs. Although Pigeon lamps were produced in large numbers, this version is uncommon due to its unique combination of components:
- The darkroom top is made by Lampe Junius
- The oil lamp base is made by Pigeon
- The wick holder is made by Gaudard
Together, they form a highly collectible and unusual darkroom lamp.
Inside the oil chamber, a type of cotton material is present to absorb the oil and release it gradually—typical for these specialized lamps.
Despite some light signs of age, the lamp retains plenty of character and remains in very good condition.
A beautiful addition to any collection of photographic equipment, oil lamps, or unique antique objects. Also perfect as a decorative piece with a story.
- Height (including darkroom attachment): 29 cm
- Estimated production date: Around 1930 (the darkroom attachment may predate the Pigeon lamp itself)
