Beacon hurricane lantern, a Canadian classic, with a red glass globe. Aged but functional condition.

Key details:
Manufacturer: GSW (General Steel Wares), one of the historic makers of Beacon lanterns
Markings: tank stamped "Guaranteed Wind Proof"
Height (excluding handle): 40 cm
Estimated production date: 1930s–1940s
Glass: original, unmarked

Shows visible signs of age: two loose spots on the top (still sits securely), dents in the tank, an old solder repair on the tank, and a crack and some dullness in the glass. Notably large, with a wide wick that produces plenty of light.

Includes: new wick
Fuel: only used with pure kerosene

Not treated against rust; additional protection recommended for long-term outdoor use.
