A storm lantern by Fr. Stübgen & Co, model 2850, most likely dating from 1927–1939. The fount is marked Fabriqué en Allemagne D.R. Patent alongside the bat — Stübgen's trademark. The French-language marking suggests this example was once destined for the French market.

The burner is original, and the globe is marked as well; the globe is presumably even older than the lantern itself.

This is a well-used working lantern in rat look condition: traces of rust and a small dent in the fount tell their own story. It has been fitted with a new wick and is in working order.
