Fantastic antique Dietz Victor hurricane lantern in very beautiful vintage condition. A classic American lantern featuring a folding globe lift lever and a beautiful clear glass globe.

One of the most remarkable details of this early Victor model is the square-shaped air tubes, a feature rarely encountered on surviving examples.

This is an early version of the Dietz Victor, produced between 1898 and 1906. It was the first Victor model manufactured in the new factory after the great factory fire of 1897. Another identifying feature is the flat-top fuel reservoir — after 1907, Dietz changed the design to a rounded tank shape.

The lantern is fitted with a nice unmarked glass globe, likely from a later replacement period.

The lantern remains in good working condition with authentic signs of age and use, adding to its historical charm and collectible character.

A fantastic addition to any antique lantern or Americana collection, while also remaining fully suitable as atmospheric lighting for the home, garden, camping, or holiday use.
