Very rare antique hand lantern / travel lantern, also known as a bullseye lantern, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. This is a particularly charming small-sized travel version designed to be compact and portable.

The convex bullseye lens provides a surprisingly focused beam of light. The lantern can be extended for use and locks into position, clearly intended as a practical travel or portable lantern.

The wick mechanism still functions, although the wick moves upward with some difficulty.

Presented in beautiful authentic vintage condition with clear signs of age and use, giving the lantern plenty of historical character and charm.
