Rare Antique Brass Skater's Lantern – WBG Co Waterbury USA, c. 1880–1900 – Working Kerosene Lamp in Excellent Condition
A brass skater's lantern by WBG Co, Waterbury Brass Goods, of Waterbury in the United States. The lamp was most likely made between 1880 and 1900.
In Germany these little lanterns are also known as liliput lamps. They are small kerosene lamps, originally carried while ice skating and later put to all sorts of uses, as a night light or a guide light among them.
The lantern burns kerosene and has been fitted with a new wick. The globe, as far as I can tell, is still the original one.
For its age the lantern is in excellent condition — I rarely come across one this clean. It is in working order.
Measurements:

A little lamp that once went out onto the ice, and would still serve tonight as a night light.
