Rare Antique Brass Railway Lamp – Black Finish – ca. 1900

Fantastic and highly unusual antique railway lamp in black and brass, a rare example with a very distinctive construction and wick holder. A truly unique decorative and collectible piece, although no longer in working condition.

This appears to be a very early example, most likely dating from around 1900.

The lamp has a remarkable design: the wick holder is positioned at the front, and the entire reservoir assembly can be slid out completely. It is fitted with an unusual glass chimney, which unfortunately has damage at the top. The wick holder is mounted in front of a removable reservoir section with a detachable cap.

Naturally, the lamp shows significant signs of age and use, which only add to its authentic character and industrial appearance. Please also refer to the photos for condition details.

As mentioned, the lamp is currently not functional and likely difficult to restore fully, as several parts are rusted solid and cannot easily be disassembled.

A fantastic addition to a railway, lighting, or industrial collection, or a striking decorative object for any interior.
