Fantastic Vintage Dietz Victor Hurricane Lantern – Early Model (1898–1906) with Rare Original Globe
Dietz Victor hurricane lantern in vintage condition, from the United States, with a fold-away globe guard and its original glass globe.
A notable detail is the square air tubes, uncommon on these lanterns.
This is an early version of the Victor, produced between 1898 and 1906 — the first model made in the new factory after the fire of 1897. It has a flat fuel tank top; after 1907 this changed to a rounded style. Multiple patent dates are stamped on the chimney tube.
Many examples carry a later replacement "Fitzall" globe, but this one still has its original glass, marked "Dietz No. 0 Tubular New York USA." The lantern body is marked "Victor, Dietz New York USA."
Height (excluding handle): 35 cm
In working condition, with age-related wear consistent with its era.
Fitted with a new wick; used only with pure kerosene.
