Foldable trench lantern with handle and lever, unmarked but likely of French origin.

These candle lanterns were widely used during the First World War — collapsible so they could be folded flat for easy carrying. This example is in working condition, with a lived-in appearance.

The glass currently fitted is 1.5 mm window glass, not original, but it makes the lantern functional. Note: the glass is thin and fragile — there's a real risk of breakage when folding the lantern.

Unmarked, though many lanterns of this type originated from France.

Shows light signs of age. Suitable for a collection, or as a small light for any interior.

Height (excluding handle): 20 cm
Estimated production date: 1920s/1930s

Not treated against rust. Additional protective treatment recommended for prolonged outdoor use.
