Fantastic Complete Electric Magic Lantern, Original, Including Fairy Tale Slides by Johann Falk – Most Likely 1930-1950

A complete, original electric magic lantern, including slides with fairy tales, most likely from 1930-1950.

The magic lantern was the forerunner of television, and experiencing the fairy tales this way really does take you back to earlier times.

At the front, the lens can be pulled out and pushed in to focus. With the small lever on top, you can move the rod with the lamp socket, and therefore the bulb, up and down.

As can be seen, it is fully complete and working. It comes with slides from 1929, featuring the following fairy tales:
Robinson Crusoe
The Wishing-Table, the Gold-Donkey and the Cudgel in the Sack
Cinderella
Little Red Riding Hood
Hansel and Gretel
Snow White
Tom Thumb
Puss in Boots
The Pied Piper of Hamelin

The photos of the slides were taken against a white screen that was just not quite wide enough, which makes it look as if a piece has been cut off, but that is not the case.

The fairy tale slides are still complete, are still in their original box, and are by the German maker Johann Falk. The magic lantern itself is not marked; a very similar oil-burning model was marked Johann Falk.

It is unknown whether the cord and lamp socket are original; I expect the cord is not, as these were often braided cords.
It is fitted with a halogen bulb, which does get very hot, but you can of course fit an LED bulb instead.
It is 230V and has an E27 socket.

This magic lantern does not run on oil, so strictly speaking it doesn't belong on an oil lamp site. It is an exception: a special, original lantern that I wanted to offer here all the same.
