Fantastic and extremely rare Feuerhand 275 “Non‑Baby” variant – early post‑war lantern with Auer glass – in good working condition, silver painted.
This is an exceptionally rare version of the Feuerhand 275, it is a “Not-Baby” variant.
The glass is particularly special: it is an Auer globe marked No. 275, instead of the more common P40 marking normally seen on Auer glasses of this era.
This model was produced for only a very short period, shortly after the Second World War. What makes it especially remarkable is that the lantern does not carry the word “Baby”, even though the Feuerhand 275 normally always includes this marking. In addition, it is marked “Germany” rather than “W. Germany”, which allows it to be dated between 1945 and 1949.
It was likely among the very first storm lanterns produced by Feuerhand after the war.
Naturally, it shows signs of age, which add to the character of the lantern. The lamp has been painted silver-grey; because the paint is still in very good condition, it has been left intentionally.
A wonderful addition to any collection, yet still perfectly suitable as practical lighting in the home, garden, or when travelling.
