Extremely Rare Large Bullseye Lantern – H.L. Piper Montreal (c.1910–1930)
This extraordinary antique hand lantern, also known as a Bullseye lantern, was manufactured by H.L. Piper, Montreal, Canada. These lanterns were commonly used on railways and by police as an early form of portable lighting—essentially a predecessor to the modern flashlight. Unlike most examples, which are much smaller, this impressive piece measures 33 cm in height including the handle.
