The Feuerhand 175 K is an extremely rare hurricane lantern from one of the earliest production runs, made between 1935 and 1937. The logo on the fount does not yet have a banner around it, which places the lantern in that period.

The fount is marked Made in Germany Feuerhand Superbaby Superflam Nr. 175. The Superflam version was made for export to France.

The K in the model designation stands for Kumthalter. There is a bracket on the side: the lantern was used as lighting on a cart or wagon. It carries a reflector with a red prism lens behind it, marking the rear.

The globe is the original marked one. The lantern burns kerosene.

For its age the lantern is in excellent condition. There are light traces of old black rust on the top of the fount — see the photographs. It is in working order.
