Extraordinary, extremely rare ship lamp, dating from an era before the widespread use of Fresnel lenses. Unlike the typical cylindrical glass design, this one has flat glass panels set in brass frames, an early and distinctive construction.

Estimated to originate from 1850–1875, with notable craftsmanship:

Steel body with copper rivets
Brass faceted edges

The oil reservoir is a later replacement (the lamp arrived empty), but fits well after minor adjustments. The wick wheel and burner are marked "Kenyon".

Type: table lamp / hanging lamp
Height (excluding handle): 52 cm
Width: 37 cm
Weight: 2,085 g
Fuel: kerosene (with new wick installed)
