Rare hurricane lantern by Hermann Buchholtz, with a glass lift mechanism similar to those found on Mammut lanterns, and an unusual double-tank system: a small inner tank connected to the outer tank via a narrow tube.

Glass: rare Schutz Marke glass, originally from a Heinrich Friedrich hurricane lantern, featuring an eagle holding a lantern
Condition: wick cap missing; inner tank was heavily rusted, repaired with steel putty and tank sealer (traces remain); signs of age throughout
Fuel: petroleum, fitted with a new wick, tested only with pure kerosene
Not treated against rust; additional protection recommended for prolonged outdoor use.
