This exceptionally rare storm lantern by Hermann Buchholtz is a true collector’s piece, featuring unique design elements rarely seen in vintage lanterns. The lamp includes a special glass lift mechanism, similar to those found on Mammut lanterns, and an extraordinary double-tank system: a small inner tank connected to the outer tank via a narrow tube.

    • Ring under the glass features an angel with trumpet and the inscription Schutzmarke.

  • Glass: Extremely rare Schutz Marke glass, originally from a Heinrich Friedrich storm lantern, featuring an eagle holding a lantern.
  • Condition:
    • Missing wick cap.
    • Inner tank was heavily rusted; repaired with steel putty and tank sealer (visible traces remain).
    • Signs of age throughout, adding authentic character.
  • Fuel: Petroleum, fitted with a new wick (tested only with pure kerosene).
