This is a solid and well-made example with a wonderful aged patina that reflects its history and character.
The functionality and completeness have not been tested. It appears that a small component may be missing beneath the chimney. Please review the photos carefully for details.
Lamps of this type were commonly used as hand lanterns, particularly in and around railway operations — a field in which Butin produced many lamps.
