The BAT 158 was built by VEB Sturmlaternenwerk in Beierfeld, Germany. This is an early example, most likely from the 1950s, recognisable by the chimney: it has no holes yet.
The fount reads BAT 158 Made in Germany. The filler cap carries the hallmark 38/369/0106 K2 and a 1 in a triangle.
The globe is embossed Bat is brightest together with the bat logo. I rarely come across a globe like this.
The lantern burns kerosene.
Condition is good and the lantern is in working order.
