Antique Fr. Stübgen & Co Kitchen Lamp – German Wall Oil Lamp with Bat Logo and Mirror Reflector, c. 1900–1920
A fantastic oil lamp, a kitchen lamp, by the German manufacturer Fr. Stübgen & Co, probably from the 1910s/1920s, in working condition.
A wall lamp of a classic model, which was also known as a kitchen lamp.
The wick holder bears the Fr. Stübgen & Co logo, the bat. This logo also appears on a brass plate below the mirror, which is also marked D.R. Patent underneath.
On the back of the mirror reflector there is also a large image of a bat.
This oil lamp has a much larger reservoir than you usually see, with a double holder around the glass and beautifully twisted wire for the holder. The mirror also has a lovely patina.
The glass holder is missing half of its small plates; the glass still stays in place, as you can see, and despite this the lamp is still perfectly usable.
Height to the hanging eye of the reflector: 32 cm
Date of manufacture: In my estimation 1900–1920.
