The Fr. Stübgen 2850 is a German hurricane lantern, thought to have been made between 1929 and 1939. For a lantern of around a hundred years old, this example has survived remarkably well.

The fount is marked Made in Thuringia D.R. Patent. The globe carries the bat — Stübgen's trademark — together with Made in Thuringia.

The fount has been treated with a tank sealer. The lantern burns kerosene and is in working order.
