Antique mining lamp by Davies Derby & Co. Ltd, a British manufacturer based in Birmingham, dating from around 1900. Heavy-duty safety lamp made of steel and brass, numbered 296.

Working condition, but not fully complete:

Missing the brass threaded ring above the wick holder (normally used to secure the burner)
Missing a ring under the glass, exposing the thread

Still functional despite the missing parts.

Suitable as a collector's item, or as a decorative oil lamp.
