Rare Antique Train Signal Lamp – J.J. van Dijk Utrecht, Copper & Brass, Complete and Functional
Antique train signal lamp manufactured by J.J. van Dijk in Utrecht, a Dutch maker that supplied lamps to the NS (Dutch Railways). Made of copper and brass, complete and in working condition.
Notable feature: red glass mounted in a hinged door, secured with a latch. The door can be swung aside and fixed in place. The back bears the J.J. van Dijk Utrecht logo, and the lamp is numbered 2242.
Originally used as a hand lantern and signal lamp for railway operations, including shunting.
