Rare Antique Railway Signal Lamp – Adlake “Non-Sweating” Lamp, Chicago, 1920s–1930s, Complete with Original Oil Reservoir
Heavy antique railway signal lamp manufactured by Adlake (The Adams & Westlake Company) in Chicago, an American maker of railroad equipment. Complete and in working condition, with its original oil reservoir marked "The Adams and Westlake Company Makers Chicago".
The top bears the inscription "The Non-Sweating Adlake Lamp Chicago". Includes two red and two white enamel-rimmed lenses. These lamps were historically used as railway signal lights and stoplights, often mounted on a mechanism for easy rotation.
Functional, though the wick holder sits slightly high, causing smoke during use, so indoor burning isn't recommended.
