This explains the heavy mounting bracket on the back. According to the previous owner, \u003cem\u003eGW\u003c\/em\u003e stands for \u003cem\u003eGemeente Werken\u003c\/em\u003e (Municipal Works), though this is not certain.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInside the lamp, coloured glass filters can be slid in front of the lenses, and the side panels contain red glass.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNaturally, the lamp shows light signs of age, which only adds to its character. A wonderful addition to a collection, but also perfectly usable as atmospheric lighting in the home, garden, or while travelling.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe lamp is fitted with a new wick and has only been used with pure kerosene.
